WELCOME
At Park Street Perio, we are leading Periodontists located in the heart of Sydney. Periodontists treat Periodontal Disease and place implants. Our team has been dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for our patients and we take pride in offering proactive, quality healthcare in a safe and comfortable environment.
WHAT WE DO
We treat periodontal (gum) disease or Periodontitis and manage all gum and bone defects that result from Periodontal disease. This includes the whole range of advanced soft (gum) and hard tissue (bone) surgeries to stabilise the gum disease or even regrow some of the lost tissues.
We are also specially trained in placing dental Implants to replace missing teeth and to perform hard tissue (bone) and soft tissue (gum) grafting procedures to allow for implant placement in areas where there is insufficient supporting tissue. We only use the highest quality and scientifically proven dental implants and biomaterials from established international manufacturers.
We provide 3D Implant Planning and Guided Implant Surgery with 3D-Scanning, 3D-Software-Modelling and we can place implants using 3D-printed Surgical Guides for best possible accuracy and safety.
PERIODONTICS

Periodontitis (Gum Disease), is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting the tissues supporting the teeth (gums and bone), that is caused by bacteria colonizing the tooth surfaces and the gum. Peri- means around, -odont- means tooth and -itis means inflammation.
The bacteria are able to be in contact with the gum tissue for long periods because the tooth (and implant) surfaces are the only surfaces in the body that are not constantly shedding. With time, the bacteria adhering to the tooth surfaces change and become more pathogenic and this leads to an inflammatory reaction in the periodontal tissues. This inflammation leads to loss of supporting bone and subsequent gum recession in susceptible individuals. Gum recession leads to spaces opening between the teeth and the teeth appear longer as the root surfaces are exposed. Significant aesthetic problems often arise if the disease is not treated effectively, preferably in the early stages and then kept stable with regular ongoing maintenance treatment (Supportive Periodontal Care). Without treatment, periodontal disease often leads to tooth loss.
DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental Implants are a relatively new and fascinating way to replace missing teeth and may also be used to stabilise removable dentures/prostheses.
The placement of dental implants as well as their long-term success and survival depends upon a sufficient amount of supporting bone, as well as a certain amount and specific type of thicker gum tissue. Unfortunately, due to gum disease or other problems that have caused the loss of patients’ natural teeth, many patients have lost significant amounts of bone and/or gum. In these cases, bone augmentation and/or gum grafting is required in order to allow implant placement.
Precise three dimensional positioning of the implant is of paramount importance to enable construction of a functional and aesthetic restoration and to reduce the risk of complications such as nerve injuries. The implant-supported restoration must be designed to facilitate plaque control and implant maintenance, to foster long lasting implant health and survival. Today, 3D Implant Planning and Guided Implant Surgery as well as the use of Digital 3D-Scanning and 3D-Printing/Milling allow us to place implants predictably and with a high degree of accuracy, at the planned optimal 3-dimensional position.
We offer all our patients a personalized implant assessment and discussion regarding their individual situation. Schedule your appointment today and our aim is that you will leave our clinic well-informed regarding your implant options and requirements.
